Australia Day honours for BEL community

15 Feb 2019

Australia Day 2019 Honours have been conferred on 16 prominent alumni, staff and friends of The University of Queensland’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL).

The annual awards recognise Australian citizens who have achieved excellence and enriched the community across professional, public and service sectors.

BEL Faculty Executive Dean Professor Andrew Griffiths said the 2019 honourees deserved their moment in the spotlight.

“These BEL community members have served their country admirably for many years, making significant contributions to fields as diverse as business innovation research, law, education and mining,” Professor Griffiths said.

“I applaud our 2019 honourees, and I look forward to seeing what they do next.”

Other notable UQ recipients included UQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj, who was named a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for eminent service to higher education and research.

Congratulations to our UQ Economics community honourees (listed below).
