Master of Applied Econometrics

Build your skills in applying mathematical and statistical methods to economic data, so you can inform decision-making, predict change and provide quantitative insight into economic relationships.

Have not studied economics, business or commerce

Our 2-year Master of Applied Econometrics is designed for students who have not previously studied economics. You will receive comprehensive training in economics and econometrics, beginning with introductory courses.  You will then move onto advanced-level study of econometrics and select elective courses to suit your interests. You may also choose to complete a research thesis. 

Have studied economics, business or commerce

Our 1.5-year Master of Applied Econometrics will suit you if you have studied some economics in your undergraduate qualifications and wish to strengthen and extend your knowledge of econometrics. You will develop advanced-level quantitative skills in critical and analytical thinking and logic.  Compulsory courses examine topics such as Causal Inference for Microeconometrics, and, Applied Econometrics for Macroeconomics and Finance, while electives can be tailored to your interests. You can also complete an original research thesis on any topic.
