Master of Advanced Economics

The Master of Advanced Economics is our most demanding masters and offers the highest-level, cutting-edge training in formal techniques of economics analysis and econometrics.  It is similar to the first year in a US PhD program.

This program is your best choice if you are seeking the most advanced coursework training possible or seeking to meet the entry requirements for a Doctor of Philosphy (PhD)

The 2-semester version consists entirely of technically challenging coursework. If you want to apply these techniques to a research thesis, enrol in the extended 3-semester version.

Admission

Entry to this program is competitive. You need to satisfy the Executive Dean that, based on your academic record, you are best qualified for admission. As a minimum, you must have completed a relevant Honours or postgraduate degree and achieved outstanding results.

Applications will be considered in two rounds during the year.  However, commencement in the program is only in February each year.  Application deadlines are 30th April and 30th September each year. The selection committee will review all completed applications after the deadlines - only those with complete documentation will be reviewed.
