The main purpose of this proposal is to develop socio-economic models to better understand how water users (farmers, firms, households) adapt to climate change and how economic instruments can influence this adaptive behaviour. These models will then be used to predict water use and the economic value of water for the different users under different climate change scenarios. The results of this research program will inform policy development for sustainable and efficient use of water resources by farmers, households, and firms in a context of high uncertainty and future climate change.
