Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are scheduled each week for ECON1010, ECON1310, and ECON1050. Each session is conducted by two leaders who have recently excelled in a particular course. Weekly session times are detailed on My SI-net as well as on each course's Blackboard website.
All sessions are designed to encourage student participation and active learning. Your leaders will be happy to help you with whatever study areas you find difficult, so don’t be afraid to ask questions. PASS is also a great way to meet people and make friends, and helps many students adjust to university education.
PASS is designed to complement the learnings from lectures, tutorials and other course materials, as well as demonstrate how theories can be applied. PASS leaders are there to help you explore difficult course concepts so as to develop a deeper understanding of essential material. Attendance at PASS is highly recommended.
More details are available from the Blackboard PASS page for individual courses. After enrolling in a course, access to Blackboard and to My SI-net is usually available within 48 hours.
