Econometric Methods for Treatment Evaluation
The University of Queensland School of Economics invites you to a three day intensive course on Econometric Methods for Treatment Evaluation from Monday 25 September to Wednesday 27 September 2017. This three-day workshop will be presented by Professor Pravin K Trivedi, at the St Lucia Campus.
The School invites you to forward this course information to your friends and colleagues who might be interested in attending.
About the Course
The course will maintain the focus of the TE literature on identification and estimation of causal parameters, specifically treatment effects, using data from randomized control trials (RCT), laboratory experiments, and observational data, and usually within the framework of the potential outcome model. The course will be taught over 3 days; each day will have three 90-minute lecture sessions and one 90-minute hands-on practical session based on Stata commands. Lectures will cover background theory and concepts and provide motivating examples. Practical session will use Stata commands for implementing methods (covered in lectures) for estimating TEs in linear and selected nonlinear regression models. Data files, exercises and Stata codes will be distributed to participants to facilitate learning how to implement TE methods. Both simulated data and real data sets will be used.
