The QCA is an independent agency that is responsible for economic regulation in Queensland. It determines the prices that can be charged by monopoly businesses for certain goods and services and also approves the terms and conditions of access to the assets held by these businesses.

Awarded by QCA on the recommendation of the Head, School of Economics. 

1. Eligibility for the award

i.Bachelor of Economics student who achieves the highest combined result in two economics courses; Regulatory Economics (ECON3440) and Advanced Microeconomics (ECON3010).  QCA on the recommendation of the Head, School of Economics.
ii. Recipients must maintain full time enrolment in the Bachelor of Economics (single or dual program).
iii. The prize recipient must be prepared to attend a presentation of the award and to appear in promotional material for QCA and the School of Economics.
