Professor Paul Simshauser

Paul Simshauser joined AGL in 2008 as Chief Economist & Group Head of Corporate Affairs. He has overall responsibility for regulated pricing, economic policy and sustainability, energy regulation, government affairs and corporate communications.

Paul has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry having commenced his career with the Queensland Electricity Commission. He previously held senior executive positions at Stanwell Corporation Limited, NewGen Power and Babcock & Brown.

An economist by trade, Paul holds bachelor degrees in economics and in commerce, a masters degree in accounting and finance, and a PhD in economics from the University of Queensland. He is a CPA, an AFMA Accredited Dealer and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is also Professor of Finance at Griffith University's Business School, and is widely published on energy economics in academic journals.
