Alexandra holds a PhD in economics from the University of Queensland (2015) and PhD in finance from the Moscow City Government University of Management (2013). Her research has been investigating potential project evaluation methods to improve public program development in the Russian energy sector. She specifically examined multi-criteria analysis and levelised cost of energy modelling as tools to support decision making in addressing the issues of new energy generation technology adoption, energy efficiency improvement, combined heat and power generation and renewable energy development.
As a researcher at the School of Economics (2011-2015), Alexandra contributed to projects investigating smart electricity grid and distributed generation potential in Australia. She has been teaching postgraduate courses in microeconomics, ecological and environmental economics, and natural resource economics. As a former public servant (2008-2011), Alexandra is an experienced auditor. She led the teams investigating efficiency of public programs in fields of urban infrastructure and utilities development, major overhaul programs, energy and fuel supply.
Alexandra is a Research Officer within Data 61 | CSIRO team and is currently involved in a research projects that investigates trends and scenarios for the future of employment and skills development in different industries in Australia.
