The Janelle Donnelly Scholarship was established in 2015. In making a gift to the University, Janelle wishes to honour her commitment to provide opportunities for academically qualified female students enrolled in a program at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and who are of Samoan heritage and have financial needs.

Janelle completed a Master of Applied Law at the University of Queensland and also holds degrees from other universities, including a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science (Environmental Management), a Bachelor of Arts (Urban Studies) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She has held various positions in infrastructure development and stakeholder engagement for organisations such as Golder Associates, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Melbourne Water Corporation and Port of Melbourne Corporation. Janelle’s passion for the environment has guided her career in being able to create change through supporting sustainable practices in some of Australia’s most important marine parks and ports. She is also passionate about supporting the community through providing others the opportunity to have a quality education. This passion has inspired her to create such a scholarship and impact the lives of the next generation of leaders within our community.
