What you need to maintain/update

UQ Researchers

  • Any current academic staff members with a continuing or fixed-term appointment of more than 12 months will automatically have a profile generated for them on UQ Researchers. However, it will not publicly display until four months after commencing employment at UQ. This four month grace period gives new staff an opportunity to complete their profile (e.g. add bio, get publications into eSpace etc). There is also an option to publicly display the profile earlier than four months if desired.
  • Unpaid academic staff members (e.g., adjuncts, honorary) with an appointment of more than 12 months have the option to opt-in to have a profile on the system.
  • Professional staff, casual employees and HDR students are not currently included in the system.
  • Note for unpaid staff and new staff: Refer to this guide if you would like to activate your profile on UQ Researchers.

You should use UQ Researchers to manage and update information including but not limited to:

  • Qualifications
  • Appointments
  • Research interests
  • Teaching & supervising
  • Grants
  • Awards
  • Memberships

The UQ Researchers FAQ page should be able to answer any questions you have about updating specific sections.

UQ eSpace

You should use UQ eSpace to manage your research publications and data sets. The UQ eSpace information page should be able to answer any questions you have about updating specific sections.

What the BEL Website team updates

The BEL Website team updates your:

  • Title and name
  • Position
  • Phone number, email, location and availability
  • Researcher biography (on the School website only, you’ll need to update the bio on UQ Researchers yourself)
  • Additional information (e.g. links to personal website and CV)
  • Areas of research
  • Photo

If you need any of these updated, please email belwebsite@uq.edu.au with the requested changes.

They also link your staff profile to UQ Researchers and eSpace, once you’ve updated these and provided us with your UQ username, UQ Researchers ID and UQ eSpace Author ID. This is how “Publications”, “Books” etc. are linked to your staff profile.

Photos (headshot)

If you need your photo taken or if yours isn’t UQ style, the BEL Marketing & Communications team run staff photoshoots every semester during the mid-semester break. You’ll receive an email with further information closer to the date, however, to ensure you don’t miss out, use this spreadsheet to sign up.
