The School of Economics is proud to acknowledge that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) commenced offering a prize in 2008, valued at $1000, to a student in UQ’s Bachelor of Economics (Honours) program

1. Eligibility for the award

Recipients must have the best overall performance in the compulsory course ECON6010 Microeconomics A and in the Honours thesis that meets the following guidelines:

Eligible Honours theses would include those that:

  1. Deal with a contemporary issue in one (or more) of the following areas: microeconomic theory, microeconomic policy, competition and regulatory economics; and/or 
  2. Focus on the applied aspects of the issue i.e. theoretical and empirical tools are combined to answer a relevant microeconomic question.
